Welcome to Vintage Page Designs.  My name is Ali Manning and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a book artist and I create hand bound journals that allow you to capture your ideas, memories and stories.

Ali Manning

Here’s my story:

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a passion for paper and books. I grew up in England but moved to the USA in 1996. I live in a yellow Victorian house (with a red front door) in Groton, Massachusetts with my husband Andy, daughter Hannah and black lab Daisy.

I’m a full-time book artist working in Western Avenue Studios in the historic mill city of Lowell with 300 other artists. I’ve been blogging about paper crafts and book arts since 2007, and have taught hundreds of students how to express their creativity through paper. My work has been featured in online journals and industry magazines, including Somerset Studio and Cloth, Paper, Scissors. Read about my studio here.

When I’m not making books, you’ll find me traveling to visit my family, who are scattered across the globe, going to flea markets, reading Victorian novels in the bathtub or hiking in the woods. I’m a sucker for coffee shops and have been known to like the odd gin and tonic 🙂

Please stay in touch by signing up for my newsletter and if you have any questions, feel free to contact me here.  I also encourage you to join my Facebook Group, it’s filled with lovers of handmade books!
