Blanket Stitch Book
This Blanket Stitch binding is from Keith Smith’s first volume of Book of Non-Adhesive Bindings. I love the pattern it creates and it’s very relaxing to stitch. It’s unusual because each horizontal row of stitching across the spine is completed independently.
There are several things about this binding that I don’t like: it’s very loose and there’s a lot of movement, and the covers don’t seem securely attached because holes are pierced very close to the edge(1/16″). But I’d recommend trying it to see if you like it.
I’m including this as Book 43 in my 50 Book Project.

Absolutely stunning. Is there no option to make the holes a bit further in in the cover and maybe loop around it twice to make it fit more tightly?

Hi Christine, I think you’re right and there must be a way of modifying the cover attachment to make it more like a coptic stitch book.
