Changes
I’m sharing a recent page from my art journal today to explain why I’ve been absent from my blog for several weeks a whole month! I’ve been planning some big changes for 2014 and a lot of them have come to fruition in the last couple of weeks.
My business Vintage Page Designs really took off in 2013, especially during the second half of the year. In early 2014 I decided that this would be the year that I would quit my job and work on the business full-time. I gave notice to the organization I work for about 6 weeks ago and Friday, June 27 was my last day.
It was a hard decision because I love the people I work with and enjoyed the work I did in marketing and events planning, but this really felt like the right time.
Over the past 6 months I’ve also worked towards cutting out another personal commitment that took up a lot of time and mental energy. It was something that I felt passionately about, but with only so many hours in the day, I feel like it’s time to focus on growing and moving forward with Vintage Page.
What does all this mean for the blog? I’ll be posting a whole lot more. I love to write and share what I’m doing and I’m excited to be able to focus more on that. The past 6 months have been really tough trying to work in my job, run the business plus take care of my home and family.
I’m taking 3 weeks off for a trip home to England then I’ll be diving back into things. I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
