Coptic Stitched Sketch Books
Where have I been the past month? Locked in my studio trying to perfect this two-needle coptic binding so that I can offer them in my store in the new year.
This particular coptic binding is slightly different from others I’ve seen. When attaching the covers to the first and last signatures, the thread doesn’t wrap around the book, it goes into a third hole on the edge of the book board. You can see it more clearly in the photo below. I learned it from Jody Alexander of Wishi Washi Studio.
Later this week, I’ll share some great tutorials if you’d like to try this binding yourself.
