Envelope Book
I chose a fun design for book number 47 in my 50 Book Project – an Envelope Book. I found the instructions on Monica Lee’s blog, Artful ReCrafter. I think it’s a great little structure to use up paste papers and gelli prints because we all have piles of those, right? This started life as a 8.5″ x 11″ gelli print.
I followed Monica’s tutorial and I had an accordion fold book with 4 pockets/pages. I modified the design by adding 2 single signatures (also gelli prints) to the 2 valley folds and stitched the book together with a double-pamphlet stitch, which you can (kinda) see in the photo below
I then created little cards to slot into the envelopes (again using up gelli scraps).
I added some verses of poetry to the 4 blank pages:
Here’s a look at the back cover:
I really encourage you to try this envelope book because it’s fun to make and has a lot of design possibilities.
