Good Bye 2014 and Hello 2015
I’d like to take a moment to wish you a happy New Year. I hope you’ve been able to rest and relax with family and friends this holiday season.
The period between Christmas and New Year is a great time to reflect on what has happened in the past year and what is to come in the new one. I always look forward to taking several days to take stock of my successes and failures from the previous year and plan for the next one.
2014 was a great year for me personally and professionally. Personally, all my happiest memories included spending time with my family (see my awesome daughter and husband below) and traveling, which included trips to England, New York City, Maine, Portland and Boston.
On a professional note, it was also an amazing year! In March I rented my first studio space and in June I quit my job to focus on Vintage Page Designs full time. I traveled to Portland for my first conference, Pioneer Nation and the sales from my store increased 50% over last year. I took three mono printing classes, including one with Linda Germain, which was amazing.
Just so you don’t think everything is perfect – on the down side I’ve been neglecting my blog and not updating it as often as I would like. My bookkeeping is horrible and heaven knows how I’m going to do my taxes this year without a nervous breakdown. And I haven’t improved my bookbinding skills as much as I would like.
But overall, it’s been amazing and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to do something I love everyday.
I have big plans for 2015 and will be announcing a new project on Saturday, January 3rd.
