Mixed Media Card
I was able to lock myself in my studio for a few hours today and create some projects. Only one is finished and ready to share – a mixed media card I created for this week’s Splitcoast Mix-Ability challenge.
It started out as piece to put in my journal, but it was sized just right for a card, so I popped it onto a watercolor card base.
To create the background: I painted on a wet wash with yellow, blue and green watercolor paints onto watercolor paper, placed a piece of sequin waste on top and removed the excess paint with a paper towel. Once this was dry, I splattered some left over paint on top.
To create the words I used Copic markers, black sharpie and a white-out pen. The hearts are hand drawn, colored Copics and outlined with sharpie and a Prisma colored pencil and blended with gamasol. The whole piece was outlined with black sharpie and signed in the corner.
I’m also entering this into this week’s Word Art Wednesday challenge.
