New Studio
It’s been quiet here on the blog because I’ve been busy moving into my new studio that I mentioned in a post a couple weeks ago. It’s still in total chaos but I’d love to share some pictures with you.
It’s located in the Western Avenue Studios in Lowell, Massachusetts – a converted mill that’s home to 300 artists. It’s a half hour drive from home, which is perfect. As I mentioned before, the studio itself is small, but that’s been a blessing because it’s forcing me to edit my supplies.
The first thing I did was cover the red, purple and yellow walls, that you can see above, with a fresh coat of white paint. My friend Becky was kind enough to spend a Friday morning helping me do this – thanks Beck!
My daughter and husband helped me move all the heavy stuff in last weekend and I’m slowly unpacking. It’s been a real team effort – I’m so lucky to have so much support.
In the same way I’m trying to downsize my stash of tools and supplies, I’m trying hard to reuse furniture and storage items that I have at home. I’m resisting the urge to go to Ikea to buy lots of lovely new things – but it’s hard 🙂
I will share more pictures when it’s looking a bit more presentable.
