On My Work Desk…Art Journal Pages in Progress
I’ve been creating watercolor backgrounds for my journals this week, so I figured I’d share some works in progress.
I created the first one by laying down a watercolor wash and once dry, flicking it with more watercolors from the brush. I made quite a few of these simple pages as the basis for collage and writing.
On this batch of pages I created some ‘Color Drop’ flowers inspired by Martha Lever. I love how these turned out and I have plenty of space for writing on the right side.
This final page in progress has lots more layers: paint, ink, gesso and pen. It started off with a simple blue watercolor wash and then I used masks, stencils, stamps and bubble wrap to create the different textures and shapes.
I’ll be sure to share the pages once they’re complete. To see more artwork in progress, head over to Stamping Ground for WOYWW220.
Thanks for stopping by!

What beautiful pages! I have not tried this method of water colour painting but you make it look very interesting.
Thanks for sharing
