Readers’ Books
I can’t tell you enough how I love to receive photos of readers’ books in my inbox. I’m so honored that you share your work and I’m proud to show it off on my blog. Here’s a recent crop:
You have to check out the work of Nancy Akerly, a book and paper artist who teaches extensively in the Mid-west. This great long-stitch book with paste paper covers and end papers is a recent class project. Visit her website Liberty Grove Paper Arts to see more of her inspiring work.
Mandy A used an embellished gelli print to make this 6″ x 8″ chain stitch book (video tutorial here). And I love how she used the pages of school composition book for the signatures.
Painter Bettye Harwell created this lovely copper mini book necklace that measures just 2″ x 3.5″. Inside is heavy watercolor paper, which she folded into accordion pages and decorated with watercolor paint. Isn’t it beautiful? You can see more of Bettye’s work on her blog Le Artiste Books.
Please continue to share the amazing books you make. You can email me alimanning{at}charter.net
