Single Section Journal – Bow Tie Stitch

If you’re a printmaker and would like to transform some of your work into simple notebooks, this is a fun journal project. It’s a single section sewing with a Bow Tie stitch pattern and is sourced from Keith Smith’s Non-Adhesive Bindings Volume II.

Here are a few tips mentioned in the video to keep in mind while making this book:
- Ensure that grain of cover and signatures run in same direction, and that the cover is square.
- A blunt needle is useful for this sewing.
- The length of thread for the binding measures 3 times the height of the book

hi Ali, are there printed directions for the single section bow tie book? I find it easier to have them to reference than try to search through a video.
