Spring Book Binding Classes
The class schedule for May is ready and I’m excited to offer two new classes – a French Link Stitch Fabric Notebook and a Cave Paper Long Stitch / Link Stitch book. You’ll recognize them from the blog and I can’t wait to share them with you in person.
Fabric Notebook with French Link Stitch
May 1, 10am – 1pm or
May 2, 9am-noon
$29
You will create soft fabric covers and bind them with a French link stitch sewn over linen tapes to create a sweet 4″ x 6″ notebook. Fabric will be provided but feel free to bring your own – it’s a great project to use recycled clothing.
Coptic Sketch Book
May 23, 10am – 4pm
$59
The Coptic binding dates back to the 4th century, and the structure allows the book to open flat, making it ideal for journals and sketchbooks.
In this class, students will learn Coptic binding and basic bookbinding techniques. You will go home with a completed 64 page hardcover book (6″ x 9.5″) and the knowledge necessary to make additional books.
Long & Link Stitch Book with Cave Paper
May 29, 10am – 2pm or
May 30, 10am – 2pm
$49
You will create a cover from a beautiful piece of hand made Cave paper and bind it with the old German Long Stitch/Link Stitch binding. Registration closes May 10 because the Cave paper needs to be ordered.
